Working With Natural Dyes

Decorate the harvest table this season with a runner or placemats made using natural dyes extracted from goldenrod and walnuts. Nichole Gerding discusses historic uses of dyes and how to identify and responsibly harvest local dye-producing plants. Preparation and dyeing techniques using natural mordants and modifiers are presented. Try your hand at these heritage skills and share them with your friends and family this year.
