Instructor Information

Eileen Boyle
Eileen is the Director of Conservation and Research at Mt. Cuba Center. She loves teaching, especially about plants and their relationships with birds and butterflies. Previously, she was the Director of Horticulture at the Philadelphia Zoo and the New York Botanical Garden.

Kelly Gill
Kelly is a pollinator conservation specialist with the Xerces Society and a partner biologist with the USDA. She provides technical support to help conserve and protect pollinators and other beneficial insects.

Jim White
Jim has worked for the Delaware Nature Society for 35 years, currently serving as the Senior Fellow for Land and Biodiversity Management. In addition to insects, amphibians and reptiles, Jim is also keenly interested in owls. He has led many field trips in pursuit of amphibians and presents programs on them throughout our area using his own photography. He and his wife co-authored Amphibians and Reptiles of Delmarva, a field guide to the amphibians and reptiles of the Delmarva region.
Mary Ellen Taylor
Mary Ellen is a landscape designer and principal owner of Taylor Landscape Contractors, Inc. She has 30 years of experience designing and installing water features in the tri-state area.
Joe Sebastiani
Joe is the Ashland Nature Center Manager for the Delaware Nature Society, and has worked for the organization since 1998. Joe has traveled in search of birds and wildlife since childhood and has led nature-based adventures to Cuba, Trinidad, Costa Rica, Canada, Ecuador, Brazil, Nebraska, Maine, New York, Tennessee, Virginia, Texas, and a multitude of locations in and around Delaware. Joe is past President of the Delmarva Ornithological Society, founded the Ashland Hawk Watch, and is Delaware eBird data reviewer for the Cornell Lab of Ornithology. As a native of Kennett Square, PA, Joe attended Penn State University, where he earned a degree in Environmental Resource Management and Wildlife Science. He also has a Master’s degree in Education from West Chester University.
