Susan is an extension specialist and associate professor in the Plant and Soil Science Department at the University of Delaware. Along with partners, she developed the Plants for a Livable Delaware Program and researched and implemented new roadside vegetation management strategies. Susan also works closely with the nursery and landscape industry, writing newsletters, organizing short courses, and conducting horticulture industry expos. In 2015, she received the Land Ethics Award in the residential category from Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve for her work on a sustainable demonstration project in New Castle County.
Carrie is an extension agent and program leader for the Lawn and Garden Program at the University of Delaware Cooperative Extension. She is also the Master Gardener coordinator for New Castle County, Delaware. Carrie holds a B.S. from Towson University and has a master's degree in plant & soil sciences from the University of Delaware. Her interests include supporting sustainable landscapes, vegetable gardening, organic production, backyard composting, school and community gardens, and local foods.
